One year later than originally scheduled, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics took place between late July through early August of 2021, and in the middle of this pandemic. Three long time residents of Japan in Tokyo and Okinawa, reflect on what their daily lives were like during those two weeks.

The pandemic changed how many of us work, and that also goes for people in radio broadcasting. Kim Jirik, a Melborune-based radio producer and a good friend of Radio 5, discusses how he has been producing from home since the early days of the pandemic, and the positive impact this has had on his lifestyle. The conversations took place in May 2020 and June 2021.

パンデミックでラジオ制作もスタジオを離れ、在宅での作業となった。Radio5の仲間でもある、メルボルン在住のラジオプロデューサー、キム・ジリクさんが、自宅から全国に放送される番組の制作をどのように続けているか、そしてそれに伴う生活の変化を語った。録音は2020年の5月、2021年6月の2回行われた。

みなさま

金沢市で開催予定だった今年のカルチュラル・タイフーン。
新型コロナ禍のために、シンポジウムを現地開催するほかはオンライン開催となりました。
『５：Designing Media Ecology』は今年も参加。
SpatialChatというプラットフォーム上に出展いたします。Zoomもあわせて用います。
今回は忠聡太、溝尻真也、神谷説子の3名が、Radio 5をはじめとする声のメディア、音のメディアについてゆるりとお話をします。
残念ながら雑誌『５』第10号の出版が間に合いませんでしたが、その前宣伝やら、リニューアルしたウェブサイトのご案内などを交えつつ、雑誌のオンライン販売もいたします。

Dear all,

After a couple of years preparation, some of community members of Magazine 5: Designing Media Ecology have been collaborating with each other and finally launch a (kind of) radio, or a sister, online voice medium of 5 on June 2018.

Radio 5 made its début at the Cultural Typhoon 2018.
Sota Takahashi, Shin Mizukoshi, and other members exhibited Radio 5 with the sales of Magazine 5 both on June 23 and 24, East Building, Omiya campus, Ryukoku University, Kyoto.

You can check the context, perspective, and mission of Radio 5 by reading “A Report on the Kickoff Symposium for ‘Radio 5′: Deep Breath with Radio” written by Sota Takahashi in the 8th issue of Magazine 5.

From now on, we will explore issues in the depth of radio, and alternative cultural formats of voice and sound media.

ラジオ『５』の背景や趣旨については、雑誌『５』第8号掲載の高橋聡太著「＜Radio 5＞キックオフ・シンポジウム報告：ラジオと深呼吸」をお読みください。

これから私たちは、ラジオの奥底にあるものをとらえ、これまでにない声や音のメディアの文化的なかたちを探していくつもりです。雑誌『５』ともども、どうかよろしくお願い申し上げます。

暮れも押し詰まった12月28日（日）午後、3331 Arts Chiyoda （東京都千代田区）で開催される「あらぶんちょメディアパーティ」という地域メディアのイベントに、『５』編集室の面々が顔を揃えます。

間際となって申し訳ないですが、お時間おありの方はどうぞお誘い合わせのうえ、お越しください。
入場無料、事前登録不要です。

雑誌『５』を販売するとともに･･･

な、なんとラジオ『５』をはじめます。
といっても、マイクロラジオなんだけど。

15時から17時までの約2時間、メインパーソナリティに溝尻真也さんを迎え、『５』でインフォグラフィックスを担当するデザイナー集団「南水宮」の鼎談、栗原大介さんらが映像とジャーナリズムの来し方行く末を語り合い、毛利嘉孝と水越伸に縁やゆかりのある学生さんらのトークセッションなど盛りだくさん。当日披露される「コミかるた」「テレフォノスコープ」などの新しいデジタル･ストーリーテリングの仕組みも紹介します。
